You can’t put a price on looking beautiful. However, it is very difficult to put an average cost on cosmetic surgery procedures, as they vary depending on what service you choose, the doctors’ fee, the type of theatre surgery used and anaesthetist costs. Different surgeries will vary in length of time, and even the same procedure will vary in complexity.
Prior to getting cosmetic surgery done, a consultation with a respected surgeon such as Dr Jeremy Hunt is essential to discuss your options. These consultations generally take 30-45 minutes, which is why a professional fee is charged. After your consultation, you will be provided with a total cost estimate of your surgery including surgical, anaesthetic and hospital fees.
All cosmetic/plastic surgery costs are determined by the following four factors:
- Surgeon's Fee – This will vary according to the complexity and number of hours required to complete to procedure. Due to variations in standard of care and techniques used in procedures, each fee will be different and cannot be compared.
- Theatre Cost – This will depend on the hours in the operating room. Again, each surgeon will take a different amount of time to perform the operation
- Anaesthesia – This depends on the type of anaesthesia required, such as local or general, and the duration.
- Devices – These will vary depending on what is needed for your procedure. Breast implants, cheek and chin implants and injectables such as fillers and anti-wrinkle injections are referred to as 'devices.'
Remember, before any cosmetic surgery procedure, you should be aware of your financial responsibilities. Contact Dr Jeremy Hunt if you have any questions.
