Excess sweating armpits

Question:

My 22 year old daughter sweats under her arms alot. I had heard that putting botox under her arms would reduce the sweating. Or do you have a suggestion, she gets very embarrssed.

Answer:

Excess sweating is known as hyperhydrosis and can cause social embarrassment. It can effect the armits, hands, or feet and is traditionally treated with a surgical procedure to divide the nerves to the sweat glands and stop them sweating. A non surgical treatment though can be with Botox.

Botox is injected into the skin over the excessively sweaty area and will slow if not stop the sweating, the effect is not permanent and will wear off after about 6-12 months. This provides a simpler solution to the problem than surgery with minimal downtime and a faster recovery
