Question:
Hi I would like to know what option there are for dark cirlcles under eyes. They are quite bad/dark. Is surgery an option? Many thanks!
Answer:
Dark circles under the eyes are due to excess pigment in the skin of the lower eyelid. This can occur for genetic or racial reasons and can be due to excess fat and puffiness of the lower eyelids. The pigment is best treated with medical grade skin care eyecreams that will bleach the pigment from the skin. If the problem is excess puffiness and bagginess as well as pigment , the solution is eyelid surgery to correct the puffiness and this will then fix the pigmentation.
