During your one-on-one consultation with Dr Hunt, he will discuss your needs and desires, answers any questions, and outline what he suggests for the best possible result, including the cost. These consultations last approximately 30 minutes, cost $300 and may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have a referral from your GP.
Dr Hunt charges this fee to cover his time, and you’ll find it is consistent with the fee charged by his peers (those with the acronyms MBBS and FRACS behind their name, which signifies they have undertaken the 6-10 years of study and application it takes to qualify and master plastic surgery).

The cost for Dr Jeremy Hunt to perform your plastic surgery is calculated according to the complexity and duration of the procedure. It includes Dr Hunt’s time performing the procedure, comprehensive before and after care, and associated costs such as your anesthetist and hospital fees.
For some procedures, such as breast reductions, Medicare rebates may apply. Dr Hunt will discuss this with you during your consultation.
Superannuation for Medical Procedures
For surgical procedures that are deemed medically necessary the ATO has allowed patients access to their superannuation funds and draw down funds to cover the out-of-pocket costs for the procedure.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, it may cover your hospital fees. You will discuss this during your consultation with Dr Hunt.
Dr Jeremy Hunt urges you to be extremely cautious when considering ‘bargain basement’ surgeries – if the price seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. It is far better to invest in a qualified plastic surgeon up front than to have to pay for a second surgery to correct the first. Above all what you are paying for is quality – and if ever there was a time to invest wisely, it’s when you are entrusting your body, your health and your appearance.
As an example, the difference between having breast augmentation with Dr Hunt and a other alternatives:
|Surgery by a qualified plastic surgeon in a real hospital, under general anaesthetic performed by a qualified anaesthetist, using top of the line implants.||Surgery not performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, in a location outside of a hospital, under local anaesthetic, using low quality implants.|
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health professional.
