Many of Dr Hunt’s patients want to help other people by sharing their plastic surgery journey on popular plastic surgery websites.
Before a patient decides to undergo plastic surgery it is important for them to not only research the procedure, but to also research the surgeon who is going to be preforming the surgery. The internet is more accessible than ever before and with the rise of social media it is now quicker and easier for patients to access the information they are looking for. This immediate access to vast amounts of information allows patients to make an informed decision before they decide on a surgeon. There are numerous review websites and forums that discuss real patient experiences with different surgeons and this forms an important part of a patients decision making process.
It is always important to understand that not everything you read on the internet is true or genuine – that’s why it’s crucial to gather as much information from reliable sources as possible. In 2010 the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) banned testimonials on all doctors websites, in an attempt to stop fake or misleading reviews. However, there are a number of reliable, independent websites where patients can review their experiences with surgeons.
A simple Google search will allow you to access website that provide impartial reviews from real patient experiences with Dr Hunt for your research purposes
As one of Australia’s most respected plastic surgeons, Dr Hunt is often called on to provide patient stories and commentary for the media.
