Lower Body Lift Surgery Frequently Asked Questions

When can I go home after LBL surgery?

You will stay in the hospital for five to seven nights following body lift surgery. Once you are comfortable and able to get to and from a bathroom, you will be able to go home. Once home, you should limit your movements to around the house for a week or so.

Will I have to return for post-operative care?

You’ll see Dr Hunt weekly for the first month after your surgery. As you progress, the time between visits will become longer.

How long will I be off work after lower body lift?

You will need to be off work for around three weeks following your lower body lift surgery.

When should I have a lower body lift?

It’s important to note that a lower body lift should be performed when you are at your ideal body weight. Weight gain will stretch skin that has been tightened, undoing lower body lift improvements and weight loss will loosen and sag the newly tightened areas of skin. In order to remove excess skin, tighten muscle and remove any excess fat, I will make incisions across your waist and lower abdomen. A tummy tuck/abdominoplasty may also be performed at the same time.

Scarring will fade over time and where possible, incisions are made in areas not visible when in your swimsuit or underwear.
